Golden Globes met golden lobes at the glittering premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button this week.
The red carpet was littered with both A-Listers and leading ladies of yesteryear, whose stylists must have converged to decide that the earring statement was the jewelry fashion choice of the evening.
Angelina Jolie, J-Lo, Eva Longoria Parker and Julia Ormond each wore dazzling earring creations. As did Jacqueline Bissett, Lisa Rhinna, Taraji P. Hensen and Sanaa Lathan.
Changing things up a bit was veteran actress, Mimi Rogers, who brought the brooch bling out to shine. And Sharon Stone’s oversized diamond dragonfly pin was also cause for serious diamond buzz. Sorry. Pun intended.
Brad Pitt’s leading lady in the film, Cate Blanchette, didn’t wear one splash of jewelry at the film’s LA launch, but her $125,000 gold-beaded Steve McQueen couture frock gave off it’s own dazzling light show.
And while there were some stars that overdid it (Alfre Woodard, the gold chains could have stayed in the jewelry box), most of the looks were just like the film. Top notch.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. The Golden Globe committee awarded the film four of it’s top nomination honors in the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor in a Drama categories. It opens nationwide on Christmas Day.
