Model-turned-editor-turned reality star, Kelly Bensimon, may never get enough dazzling jewelry and designer duds, but she has more legal drama on her hands than a season of Law and Order.

The Real Housewife of New York is not only facing battery charges for assaulting her boyfriend, now there are rumblings that the owl-inspired jewelry line she debuted on the hit Bravo! show was stolen from another New York designer.

Apparently fashionista favorite, Celeste
Greenberg of Tuleste
, worked with Bensimon as an editor at Elle Accessories and styled her with a vintage owl for Fashion Week and for her personal shoots. Kelly liked her style and suggested that they start a line together based on the owl design, but once they got the ball rolling cut Celeste out of the picture.

While there has been no official comment from Greenberg, a rep for Bensimon defended the former editrix against the claim, responding to Page Six,

“This girl used to work at Elle Accessories with Kelly. Kelly went out of her way to book her for freelance gigs. They went their separate ways. Now she’s coming after her because she needs money and Kelly’s name is in the press. There’s no validity to this. They never had an agreement about anything.”

In the meantime, Bensimon continues to hawk the owl around the talk show circuit and in magazines. To be continued.

While you may not give a ‘hoot’ about the legal woes of the rich and famous, you may want to add a little owl-inspired sparkle to your jewelry box. Check out Jewelry.com’s completely unique collection of owl jewels right here. Drama not included.
