Couture jewelry is worn only by those select few who are lucky enough to have the star power or the bank account to afford it. But Thai jewelry designer, Riwin Jirapolsek, created a $4.2 million tiara for one particularly special customer: his 15 year-old Maltese.

Lucky dog.

The pampered pooch (who goes by ‘Kanune’) is now the proud owner of the couture creation, which is made out of titanium and over 250 carats of emeralds and diamonds that the designer’s mother gave to him from the family treasure chest.

While the piece was showcased at a Bangkok dog show, Mr. Jirapolsek has no immediate plans to sell it. Instead, he’s going to add to Kanune’s collection by designing a jeweled hair clip to keep the dog’s hair out of his eyes. Yes, the dog is a male – which doesn’t seem at all fair.

While creating a $4.5 million tiara for your pet dog might be over the top in some circles, celebrity dog lovers from Paris Hilton to Mickey Rourke have gone to great lengths to drape their dogs in designer duds and diamonds. And hotel heiress Leona Helmsley famously left $12 million to her pet Maltese, Trouble.

But thankfully, you don’t have to be a Maltese to look like a million bucks. Dog lovers of all ages will bark at the moon over Jewelry.com’s selection of canine creations – from dog tag jewelry to puppy pendants any pet owner would be proud to wear to the dog run. And they’re all offered at prices you won’t find anywhere else.

Woof!
