No one can accuse Kevin Jonas of not doing his jewelry homework. The oldest brother of Disney’s singing sensation made a surprise proposal to girlfriend, Danielle Deleasa, with a self-designed diamond ring that’s impressing even our picky jewelry style editors.

The teen heartthrob worked with celebrity jeweler, Jacob & Co., to create a mouth-watering engagement ring ornamented with a three-carat, cushion-cut diamond set in a double shake platinum band covered with (gasp!) 210 round pave diamonds.

And the pricetag? A mere $75,000.

“He had done his homework. He knew exactly what he wanted,” the company’s president, Angela Arabo, told People magazine.

The Jonas Brother was very satisfied with the jeweler’s work, Arabo added:

“When he got the ring, he called me and said it was the most beautiful ring and it was exactly how he imagined. He was really excited. He couldn’t wait to propose to her.”

The 21-year-old proposed to Deleasa on July 1st when he made a surprise visit to her New Jersey home the day after his concert at Vancouver.

She said: “I didn’t see the ring for a while because I couldn’t believe what he just asked me, I was looking at him, like, ‘Are you serious?” When he pulled out that ring, I was like ‘Oh gosh.'” I said something like ‘Oh my god’, and then I started crying.”

No wedding date has been set yet, but the happy couple celebrated with 30 close friends and family at an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles over the weekend, including Kevin’s younger bros Nick and Joe.

(Don’t worry, ladies, there’s still two Jo Bros left on the market).
