Fashion Week Jewelry Recap

From Galliano and Armani to Chanel and Oscar de la Renta – one thing is clear: Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear trends aren’t for the faint of heart.

Jewelry at the 2010 Ready-to-Wear shows could have mirrored the current red carpet trend of ‘less is more’ (see this year’s Oscars for more). But with designers like John Galliano and Oscar de la Renta in the mix, the looks we found were anything but subdued. Here are our favorite highlights from the RTW shows in New York, Paris and Milan this season. Look for these styles to hit stores in time for fall – and if you’re curious what this spring has to offer, check out our fashion coverage here. Galliano’s Gilded Adventurer

John Galliano’s signature line took inspiration from a multi-culti world traveler type. We love the over-the-top chain-mail chokers and huge hoops. Inspiring, outrageous, theatrical fashion at its best. Lanvin Makes Metal Magic

Industrial chic meets the statement necklace as the Lanvin signature jewelry piece continues to light up the runway. Can’t you just see Tilda Swinton in this at her next runway appearance? Chanel’s Winter Wonderland

Karl Lagerfeld had more faux fur in this collection than a Rachel Zoe garage sale. And his wintery line was complemented by jewels that ranged from pearly statement necklaces to rings on every finger (Rihanna is known for the same ring wearing style; is this an official trend?) Oscar’s Dynasty Dynamic

And finally, Alexis Carrington came back with a vengeance in Oscar de la Renta’s fall collection. Shoulder pads, glossy red lipstick and Joan Collins hair made the oversized, geometric jewels fit right in.
