If you think romance is dead in America, the Jewelry Information Center begs to differ. They’ve collected over 1200 incredible proposal stories and picked their top ten for you to vote on. Find out how you can weigh in.

When couples decide to take the plunge, picking the right
diamond engagement
ring is half the battle; the toughest part is coming up with a creative way
to pop the question.

The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) admirably set out to find the best
examples of that fateful moment with their
Proposal Contest and collected over 1200 outrageous stories from couples
across the US.

The result?

A top ten list of some of the most incredible proposals we’ve ever heard. One
groom-to-be planted tulip bulbs that bloomed 6 months later into the words
“Marry Me?”. Another proposed on the 50-yard-line of Ohio State University’s
football stadium. And that’s just the tip of the ‘ice’ berg.

Everyone in America can read the ten stories and vote for their favorite
ultimate proposal at
through April 30, 2010. The grand prize winner will win a glamorous getaway to
Santorini, Greece, and platinum jewelry courtesy of
Platinum Guild International, USA. One vote per day, per person, is permitted.

‘Tis the season to get on bended knee, fellas…
