Grateful Dead Jewelry Launch

Deadheads can now add official Grateful Dead jewels to their space jam sessions and long, strange trips.

From tie-dyes to love beads, Grateful Dead fans have been influencing fashion since the ‘heady’ days of the mid 60s. Even though the band is no more, designer Cynthia Gale has created a new sterling silver jewelry line to symbolize the iconic group and the art they used to bring their music to life. Pieces include sterling silver cuff links, earrings, bracelets and necklaces featuring Dead favorites like the dancing bears and the “Steal Your Face” and “Space Your Face” logos.

Price points range from $54 for a pair of mother-of-pearl lightning bolt earrings to $295 for the faceted garnet and silver “Space Your Face” skull and roses necklace. The jewelry launch coincides with a Grateful Dead Archive initiative underway at the University of California Santa Cruz and a Grateful Dead exhibit now open at the New York Historical Society, according to National Jeweler.
