A black diamond cameo in Sex And the City 2 is creating a huge rush to get back in black when it comes to bling. Find out what all the fuss is about.

The Sex And the City franchise has launched many jewelry trends, from the horse-shoe pendant to the ‘Carrie necklace’. But the latest craze coming from the recently released Sex And The City 2 is good news for glamazons and goths alike: black diamonds. While we won’t give the plot away, one of the characters receives a whopping 5-carat black diamond ring in a pivotal scene that puts the other jewelry statements in the flim – from statement necklaces to shoulder dusters – to shame. Designed by Itay Malkin, the ring was carefully selected by Executive Producer and star Sarah Jessica Parker and writer Michael Patrick King after they pored through styles from more than 20 jewelry designers, according to a press release. The final result? A 5-carat black diamond beauty surrounded by 80 round natural colorless pave diamonds set in 18kt white gold. Anticipating the buzz, Malkin is producing a replica ring in a limited-edition series, each stamped with a serial number and certificate. Retailing at $10,000, the Itay Malkin Sex and the City 2 ring is available for sale online at PatriciaField.com or through private sale by contacting Itay Malkin at (888) 429-4884 or ItayMalkin.com.
