Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth ? With Gold?

A famous New York restaurant broke the Guinness World Record for creating the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae. The price? Way more than a few extra calories.

Gold is used to make everything from jewelry and dental fillings to running shoes and remote controls. But one famous New York restaurant is sweetening the pot with a gold creation never seen before.

The famous Serendipity 3 made the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae, according to the Daily Mail, with a price tag of a mere $25,000.

What makes this sugary treat so spendy?

The “Frrrozen Haute Chocolate” dessert is made from 24-carat edible Swiss gold and 23-carat edible gold leaf lining. The sweet stuff includes Tahitian vanilla ice cream, a fine blend of 28 of the world’s best cocoas, the world’s most expensive truffle – and it’s served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet, featuring an 18-carat gold and white diamond bracelet around its neck.

For those willing to spend a small fortune on their sweet tooth, there’s good news and bad news. The good new is: all proceeds benefit children’s charities in the New York area. The bad news?

You have to order it two weeks in advance.
