Check out all the sparkling specs of Reese Witherspoon’s drool-worthy diamond engagement ring.
Hollywood is hopping with engagement news this holiday season – from Hugh Hefner and LeeAnn Rimes to Natalie Portman and Ginnifer Goodwin.
And best of all? America’s sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon, is getting a second chance at love – and a stunning piece of ice on her ring finger for good measure.
People Magazine reports that Reese’s fiance, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, 40, proposed with a 4-carat Ashoka diamond stunner set on a pave
diamond-and-platinum band, similar to the one pictured here.
“In the past year, the retro look in diamonds has been very popular,” says Eve Goldberg, co-owner of William Goldberg Diamond Corporation, which produced the custom-designed ring with guidance from Toth. “It’s a very elegant cut and it has an old feel to it.”
As for the stunning center stone, the jeweler explained that Ashoka stones are rare, with less than 10 percent of rough diamonds each year having the potential to be cut in this unique way (a 62-facet cut with rounded corners). The shape was re-created based on the famous 41.37 carat diamond named after the Buddhist warrior-emperor Ashoka Maurya and is known for its exceptional beauty.
Witherspoon has previously dated Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal and has two children, Ava, 10, and six-year-old Deacon with former husband Ryan Phillippe.
