Olympic Bling for the Fab 5

A Massachusetts jeweler promised the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team diamonds, sapphires and rubies if they brought home the gold.

Generally, the Olympic games are not the place to go for serious bling sightings, but at the London games, the gals of Team USA are proving you can kick butt and sparkle in style.

When it came to the Fab 5 scoring the 2nd U.S. gold medal for team all-around, the girls might have had some incentives. Team member Aly Raisman has been sporting these custom-made diamond, ruby and sapphire studs throughout the competition and, according to an article by whdh.com in Boston, her teammates are each getting a pair of their own. Owner of Adamas Fine Jewelry in Newton Highlands, Mass. promised the earrings to the girls if they brought home the gold.

After yesterday’s win (the first since 1996), Jordyn Wieber, McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas, and Kyla Ross will join their teammate to sparkle in red, white and blue.

Other Olympians from Team USA who have rocked studs so far are Dana Vollmer, wearing small elephant studs for good luck and Missy Franklin with her trademark pearl earrings.

And how can we leave Ryan Lochte out of this? His star-spangled, diamond-encrusted grill was designed by rapper Paul Wall.
