Harry Winston
One of the greatest names in jewelry apparently brokered one of the biggest deals in his life when he was just 12 years old. Harry Winston burst onto the jewelry scene in about 1908 when he recognized a two-carat emerald in a pawnshop, bought it for 25 cents, and sold it two days later for $800. Today, Harry Winston’s jewels are more than gems and gold, they’re statements of elegance set in awe. He himself once said, “People will stare. Make it worth their while.” Harry Winston’s awe can be found in seven salons across the U.S., and in ten other boutiques worldwide.
