Duchess Kate jewelry alert!

The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William are getting ready to head down-under to Australia and New Zealand for a three-week tour. Kate will have more than 30 outfit changes during the course of the trip, and the Queen has given her total access to her private collection of jewelry. Lucky lady!

She is able to choose as many pieces as she would like to accessorize her already-amazing wardrobe. The full details aren’t out yet, but Kate will be wearing a mix of off-the-rack and custom pieces (see, this is why we love her, she’s just like us!).

Kate, Prince William, and their adorable little one, Prince George, will have a total of 48 engagements. These range from a white water ride, to royal walkabouts, and even a yacht race (can we go?).

And YOU get a pink diamond! And YOU get a pink diamond! And YOU get a pink diamond!..

And I’m getting a headache from hearing about all the crazy schwag these ‘Oprah’s Ultimate Favorite Things’ audience members are making out with.

From a $2,500 Philip Stein watch, studded with 58 diamonds; $1,900, 1.17-carat Dana Rebecca earrings, featuring 100 diamonds; $525 Judith Ripka earrings made with canary crystal stones and white sapphire accents and…

A. TRIP. TO. AUSTRALIAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

…these folks are getting more free stuff than Debra Messing at a pre-Oscar gift bag party.

But this latest little freebie for 6,000 folks in Oprah’s Australian audience has me really drooling with envy: a necklace featuring a real pink diamond designed in the shape of an ‘O’ (of course).

It makes sense that Australia’s famous diamond exporter, Rio Tinto is in on the action – and because they are the largest supplier of pink diamonds, it makes even more sense that they’d create a style for the Divine Miss O with that coveted stone as the centerpiece.

The AP reports the one-off design uses “Australian colors” and features seven diamonds including a rare pink Argyle diamond mined from its operations in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.

And now 6000(!) audience members are going away with one for friggin’ free.

What’s next? Free cars? Oh, right….

No pics have surfaced of the O-inspired style since the show won’t air until later this season, but I’m sure the piece will look something like this:

Or this:

Which reminds me. Circle pendants (a style that Oprah sent off into the jewelry stratosphere back in 2006) are a great, classic way to gift the women on your list this holiday – for romance, friendship, good parenting, rockin’ “round” the Christmas tree (sorry) – the look is universally wearable.

And affordable. Circle back to JewelClub for their stash of circle styles – many under $100 (like this one for just over $50!).

And Oprah? If you’re listening? I’ve been a very good girl this year….

How is it that Hillary Clinton, Jane Goodall, Condoleezza Rice, a pair of Olympic athletes and five female Nobel Prize winners can share the same honor with umm…Tyra Banks? It must be time for Glamour’s Women of the Year awards.

Last night the fashion magazine held their famous awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall, and they continued their tradition of honoring women from all walks of life.

I guess Glamazon media mogul is a walk of life?

Some of our favorite fashion plates were there to celebrate, including Fergie in white and silver Michael Kors, and the classic Debra Messing in Ralph Lauren.

“I’m wearing sparkles and feathers and tulle and I just thought it was appropriately Glamour-ous,” she told a Glamour reporter.

But did Messing’s famous stylist, Rachel Zoe, get the ‘witch vibe’? We’re thinking definitely ‘yes’.

Of course it was new mom, Nicole Kidman, who took fashion’s grand prize for the night in a gorgeous L’Wren Scott gown with tasteful diamond drop earrings and a fashion-forward arm band.

In town to promote her new Baz Luhrman film, Australia, the A-lister was delighted with her Glamour award for helping fight violence against women.

“It’s such a privilege. I feel a little overwhelmed,” she told USA Today.

I wonder if she was overwhelmed when Australia co-star Hugh Jackman shot that shirtless campfire scene? If you haven’t seen the trailer, ladies, fasten your seatbelts…

But all fashion, gossip and jewels aside, it was New York Senator and ‘almost’ President, Hillary Clinton, that made the biggest impression, inspiring a minute-long standing ovation.

Condoleezza Rice, elegant in Oscar de la Renta, had kind words about her fellow A-list political honoree: “I’m very fond of her, and I think she’s a great lady.”

Bi-partisanship extends its Glamorous reach. It really is a new day.
