The new year isn’t just a good time to make (and break) resolutions. It’s open season for clearance sales. And while most bargain shoppers stock up on holiday staples like wrapping paper, tree skirts and tinsel towers – my kind of hunt involves diamonds. Lots and lots of diamonds.

So let’s give it up for JewelClub, who once again blows everyone out of the water when it comes to online price busting. This week they’re holding their one-time-only New Year’s Vault Clearance sale, which is a glittering collection of all their onesie styles at 85-90% off retail.

For the uninitiated, onesies is merch-speak for styles that have only one piece of inventory left on the shelves. So it’s not the ‘runt of the litter’ product. On the contrary, it could be some of the season’s best styles. There’s just only one left in the coffers so – they slash and burn the price to make room for new stash.

And let’s not forget – with jewelry (unlike clothing, handbags and shoes) things like gold hoops, pearl strands, and cocktail rings never go out of style. So you’re not stuck buying patterned tights and a ruffle shirt at rock bottom prices that will promptly go in the back of your closet and stay there to rot with the rest of your ‘too cheap to pass up’ purchases.

I haven’t been able to confirm how long this sale lasts, but what I do know is the inventory isn’t going to last long. It’s rule #1 of a good sale, right? Get in early. Get out quick.

So check out the JewelClub onesie selection and let me know how you make out. And feel free to tweet or comment with any other great jewelry sales I should know about!

Used to be the words ‘jewelry’ and ‘sale’ were the oil and water of the marketing world. The common wisdom was: folks just wouldn’t want to buy discounted diamonds and gems, fearing they were somehow tainted or ‘damaged goods’.

But they were wrong. So wrong.

Unlike a four-carton pile-on at the all-you-can-eat buffet, there is no shame in the jewelry deal. Now, every jewelry outlet – from mall retailers and department stores to mom & pop shops and online e-tailers – offers sales, discounts and the grand-daddy of ’em all: wholesale jewelry.

Enter: JewelClub.

What was once a ‘password-protected’ Friends and Family site for a large fine jewelry manufacturer offering 70-80% off retail (yes, you’re reading that right), is now open to all us huddled masses yearning to bling free.

And in the great Donald Trump “Art of the Deal” tradition – they now have a “Deal of the Day” feature, where they offer one item every 24 hours for an even lower price. Sometimes it’s a colorful cocktail ring. Sometimes it’s gold hoops. Sometimes it’s a bridal piece. Sometimes it’s a brown diamond cat pendant. I could go on…But it’s always worth a look.

I just check their Facebook Page or their homepage for a quick glimpse every morning, and then go about my business.

So frugalistas and jewelry hounds, there’s really no reason to pay retail when it comes to fine jewelry anymore. There are, of course, still reasons to hide our heads in shame (Jersey Shore marathon, anyone?). Luckily – buying fine jewelry at a discount is no longer one of them.

Now go out there and make ‘The Donald’ proud.

Despite my natural diamond disposition, I have to say that colorful cocktail rings are my favorite jewelry category. (Yes, it’s partly because of the word ‘cocktail’).

But it’s also because it’s such a great way to make a statement without breaking the bank. Fine jewelry doesn’t have to be out of reach these days – and there’s nothing like bringing an outfit to the next level with a gumball sized bauble on your finger in your favorite color.

So enough of my pitch – here’s the real kicker. JewelClub just posted their latest sale and it’s all cocktail rings all the time (well, actually until the end of the month). We’re talking 20% of JewelClub price – not a suggested retail price.

What is the JewelClub price you ask? I’ve got one word for you: wholesale. Actually, it’s often below wholesale. So 20% off that is a virtual windfall, jewelry hounds.

Click on this link to see the twelve cocktail rings they’re discounting this month. One of them is only $30 and many are under $100. Enter the code :INSIDER at the prompt and start the shoppin!

Trust me. It’ll make you feel like spring has officially sprung…

Black Friday deals are taking the country by storm this morning, and I’ve got the best way to get the most bang for your buck – without waking up at dawn and putting on your body armor.

JewelClub – my favorite Friends and Family jewelry site – is offering 25% off their WHOLESALE prices on 12 select items that’ll make anyone on your list jump for joy.

These are their lowest prices all year – so the sale won’t last long (only from today through Cyber Monday – November 30th).

So, check it:

This 1.5 carat diamond anniversary ring retailed at $5129. JewelClub normally offers it for $1380.47 but with the Black Friday Blowout discount it’s listed at only $1035. I’m not good at math, but that looks like over $4,000 (YES, THREE ZEROS) off the original price.

Crikey!

And that’s just the beginning. Get $800 diamond studs for under $200. A cultured Akoya (yes, Akoya) pearl strand for over $6,000 off (!!), a created ruby ensemble for under $50, a sapphire ring for over $500 off retail. You have to see to believe.

So visit JewelClub by clicking here, enter the secret code INSIDER and tick off the names on your shopping list with a smile on your face, a boost to your wallet – all without leaving your leftovers.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, jewelry hounds!
