Summer Beach Jewelry Trends: Worn By Our Favorite Celebrities

Beach babes, are you looking to spice up your beach look? Accessories are just the trick! Here are four jewelry beach trends that we’ve spotted on some of our favorite celebs.

Turquoise Jewelry – It’s no secret that turquoise jewelry is trending, especially during the summer months. We love how model Alessandra Ambrosio paired her brightly hued bathing suit with a pair of turquoise earrings. Yes ladies, monochrome is always in! Shop for your own turquoise jewels at Jewelry.com.

Shin Jewelry – You can thank trendsetter Zoe Kravitz for bringing shin jewelry into the light. It’s definitely an interesting way to show your legs some love at the shore. They carry you around all day, so they deserve to be dressed up in gold and silver, don’t you think?

Long Pendants & Body Chains – Absolutely you can wear these together! Long pendants and body chains are the perfect pair, and add just the right amount of flair to a bathing suit ensemble. Check out Kate Hudson rocking both of these trends, and shop for your own pendants at Jewelry.com.

Bangles Bangles are one of our favorite jewelry beach trends, and Beyoncé knows just how to stack em’ (she’s also wearing some pretty turquoise drop earrings!). The trick to stacking bangles is to use similar shapes and sizes. Shop for your own bangles at Jewelry.com.

Met Gala 2015 Jewelry Trends

Lights! Camera! Fashion! The jewelry and fashion worlds collided this past Monday at the 2015 Met gala, Christening the Costume Institute’s China: Through the Looking Glass fashion exhibition. From Beyonce’s full frontal crystal adorned ‘gown’ to SJP’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) flame throwing headdress, this ball seemed more like a nudist colony-meets-offensively-tacky-Chinese New Year bash. Did Ms. Wintour mistaken you for one of the Real Housewives of New York and turn down your $100K request to buy a table? Well, that makes two of us. But no worries, we’ve got you covered on the top jewelry trends from fashion’s biggest Superbowl soiree…

Power Bangles & Bracelets

While blingy rings and statement pendants seemed to be a thing from this past red carpet season, sparkly arm parties were a hot ticket item at the ball. SJP rocked a bunch of boho-style bangles while good ol’ Katie Holmes played it safe with an icy trail of sparklers igniting her wrist and refining her look.

Chokers

Everyone’s favorite ’90s throwback was practically a red carpet prerequisite. Chloe Moretz, Selena Gomez and the like, seemed to be sporting delicate black chokers. Even for super A-lists like Rihanna who trailed along in a breathtaking fur-trimmed sun yellow cape, chokers were the perfect way to illuminate her neckline, finishing off her dramatic look with a delicate sparkle.

Drops

Tasseled drops were a fave amongst Bee Shaffer and Lizzy Caplan. While drops may be a great way to draw attention to one’s face, it’s the wispy movement and structure of their tasseled cousin that adds an extra dose of glitz and glamor.

Matching Bling

Matching earrings are a must, which Amal and Solange proved like no other! Both chose to wear more avant-garde and edgier designs which is why chic jewels were the perfect fit for what could have been one potential style conundrum.

Top Color: Red

We LOVED the red trend especially on Helen!  With her laser cut-out gown and medallion drops, Helen Mirren slayed the scene in this incredible color. Mirren’s look was the perfect balance of Haute Couture without overbearing.

Sheer Dresses

Even with Rihanna’s never ending silk trail and other fashion spectacles, the sheer drama were in those see-through ankle scrapers worn by JLo, Kim Kardashian West and Beyonce. The good thing about wearing next to nothing and being decked in crystals is, no need to wear jewelry right? Was it too much or too little? You vote!

3 Push Present Tips: Celebrating Duchess Kate & Moms-To-Be

We’re sure you’ve already heard the news – our favorite style icon Duchess Kate and hubby Prince William are expecting their second child! Prince George’s little sibling should arrive any day now. We’d like to congratulate Duchess Kate and celebrate all moms-to-be, with three tips for the perfect push present (all jewelry related of course). After all, you know mom deserves a gift. Check out our push present tips below, and some of our favorite celeb moms decked out in jewels with their little ones.

Diamond Jewelry

Is mom-to-be’s jewelry style chic and classic like Duchess Kate’s? We’re positive diamonds are the ideal push present for her. We suggest an elegant pair of diamond stud earrings or a diamond encrusted drop necklace or bangle. CLICK HERE to shop for a diamond jewelry push present.

Pink or Blue Jewelry

Queen Bey loves to accessorize with some major bling and colorful jewelry (her daughter’s name is Blue Ivy…!). If mom-to-be’s jewelry style is in line with celebrity mom Beyoncé’s, then she’d probably love some pink or blue jewelry (pink for a girl and blue for a boy). We suggest a pink or blue pendant or pair of earrings, or if the sex of the baby will be a surprise, then why not get her a ring with both some masculine and feminine colors. CLICK HERE to shop for a pink jewelry push present, and CLICK HERE to shop for a blue jewelry push present.

Meaningful Mom Jewelry

Celebrity mom Gwyneth Paltrow has several jewelry pieces that she wears often. If this sounds like mom-to-be to you, then we have a feeling she’d like some meaningful mom jewelry. We suggest a mother and child pendant or a boy or girl charm for her charm bracelet (you can add on charms to the collection for special occasions!). You’ve probably already read about Solange attacking Jay Z in the elevator post Met Gala fun, but no one knows why. Well, we have a theory. It may sound a little crazy, but just hear us out! We’ve even given it a witty little name (at least we think it is): Beyonce’s Met Gala Curse. Bey loses one of her Lorraine Schwartz rings at the Met Gala. Hubby Jay Z finds it and stages a mock proposal for the cameras while placing the ring back on her finger. The bad luck starts with Beyonce’s ring episode, and continues well into the night with sister Solange lashing out at her brother-in-law Jay-Z. Bad juju from the very beginning of the night!

For those of you who haven’t heard the story (although really, it’s all over the place), here’s a little synopsis. There is footage of Solange Knowles physically attacking Jay Z in an elevator at the Standard hotel following the Met Gala. A bodyguard is also in the elevator trying to hold Solange back, while Beyonce is standing by doing nothing. Geez, and we thought we had family troubles!

Any other theorists out there who’d care to share…?

Met Gala 2014 Best Dressed

Anna Wintour’s infamous Met Gala took place last night and while no, we weren’t there (hey, we can dream!), we have scoured the web to check out the attendees in their very best dresses and baubles, and let’s not forget tuxes and suits. This year, the Met Gala 2014 theme was “White Tie and Decorations.” The theme honored Charles James, a British-born designer known for his glamorous ball gowns, classic silhouettes, and overall elegant designs. Here are our top four favorite looks (how could we not include SJP?!).

SJP @ Met Gala, Photo Credit: www.popsugar.com

Best-Dressed: Sarah Jessica Parker channeled her inner Sex and the City and looked simply stunning in a black and white Oscar de la Renta gown, made especially for her of course. It was SJP’s idea to have de la Renta’s name embroidered across the back of the dress in scarlet embroidery thread. She accessorized with long white gloves and Fred Leighton earrings and bracelet.

Best-Dressed: Blake Lively and hubby Ryan Reynolds both looked amazing and pulled off the white tie theme flawlessly, but really do they ever look anything less than perfect? The lovebirds wore custom-designed Gucci pieces. Blake paired her silk chiffon gown with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a large cocktail ring. Ryan on the other hand didn’t wear any accessories, but let’s be serious, he doesn’t need to.

Kate Bosworth @ Met Gala, Photo Credit: www.eonline.com

Best-Dressed: Kate Bosworth looked gorge (and supper skinny!) in a pink Stella McCartney gown. Kate wore a number of gold accessories such as drop earrings, cuff bracelets, rings, and a choker-type necklace. Her jewelry came from a number of different designers including Ana Khouri, Vieri, Sidney Garber, and Anna Sheffield.

Best-Dressed: Beyonce can never do wrong, we all know that. Queen Bee paired a black Givenchy dress with a headpiece, and accessorized with black Lorraine Schwartz earrings (talk about statement jewelry) and several rings. One of the rings actually slid off her finger, and hubby Jay Z found it and acted out a mock proposal. How cute!

Lena Dunham @ Met Gala, Photo Credit: www.huffingtonpost.com

Worst-Dressed: You know this post wouldn’t be complete without us including at least one worst-dressed. That title goes to…Lena Dunham! We love Lena, we really do (go Girls!), but this dress really doesn’t flatter much. Maybe something a little longer would have been a better choice to accompany the theme of the night.

Beyonce’s Blingy New Baby Bump

Beyonce’s red carpet jewelry often steals the spotlight – especially when she brings out her best Lorraine Schwartz show-stoppers like she did at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. BUT…

It appears there is one accessory that trumps them all. A burgeouning blingy baby bump!

What better way to share the happy news than with a stunning off-the-shoulder Lanvin number and more emeralds and diamonds than any mere mortal has a right to wear at once! How much do you LOVE that emerald circle ring, jewelry hounds!?!

While metallic minis, bold cuffs, cocktail rings, parasols and um….snakes….were the other accessory trends of the night, you have to give it up for the divine Miss Sasha Fierce for making sure nothing could possibly upstage her big blingy reveal.

Except….maybe…..this….

Stay tuned this week on Jewelry.com where I’ll be bringing you the hottest VMA jewelry moments in affordable looks you can bring home to your own jewelry box – or wear while framing a baby bump.

Hoop earrings (aka: the little black dress of the jewelry world), are making a big splash on celebrities and fashionistas alike this season. And the good news is: you don’t have to jump through hoops to get a shining pair for your own jewelry box.

Classic hoops have always been a fashion staple for women of all ages, and while the style is great for anything from a board meeting to a girls’ night out, we’re also seeing them on the red carpets as celebrities and their stylists bring basics back to high fashion.

Beyonce wowed us at the VMAs with Lorraine Schwartz hoops rumored to be close to $1 million smackers, Kim K. wore a more classic hoop silhouette to the Emmys, and Padma Lakshmi threw in a bit of color to help her red carpet hoop-la.

Now I know you most likely already own a pair of classic gold hoops, but now is the time to take the look to new levels. Try a larger size. Add some color with a gemstone look. Grab a pair in a different metal. Go big with an all-diamond pair.

And Jewelry.com has hundreds of styles for your browsing pleasure from the retailers you trust at prices you can afford.

Before I get to the jewelry fashion and the Kanye West outburst during the MTV Video Music Awards last night, I’d like to just take a moment to reflect on what I thought was – by far – the best part of the night.

MTV isn’t always known to be a class act, and the VMAs is certainly not the place to go looking for it, but whoever was in charge of producing the opening Michael Jackson dance tribute ought to get some kind of award.

Who doesn’t remember running to the TV everytime an MJ video would come on – from Thriller to Beat it?And we ran because we wanted to see those synchronized dance numbers, right? And if it wasn’t Michael it was his sister, Janet, who carried the torch.

Well, for those of you who are square in my demographic – here is a link to the thing. The dancers were amazing – and the Janet Jackson finale was a great way to top it off. I teared up all the way through. It’s not the same as seeing it live, I’m sure, but you’ll get the idea.Nicely done, VMAS.

Now, on to the fashion. First of all, if I see another starlet in a metallic mini dress I’m going to hurl. Enough, already! And Pink and Shakira showed up wearing the same friggin’ one! They are cool, sure, but someone think outside the box, will you?

Diamonds simply dripped from Beyonce, who wore $1 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry; Taylor Swift showed in the same designer’s diamonds and a stunning beaded Kaufman Franco gown, and the third part of this ill-fated trio, Kanye West, just accessorized with his girlfriend in an unfortunate jumpsuit.

So by now, you’ve all heard about how Mr. West took it upon himself to interrupt Taylor Swift’s wispy acceptance speech to lament the fact that Beyonce didn’t win for Best Female Video. I’m thinking Beyonce will be just fine without yet another award in her trophy case (she won the night’s top prize for the video anyway).

In other words, let well enough alone, Kanye.MTV is a corporate juggernaut out primarily to promote big stars (including yourself), not to make fine-tuned artistic statements. If getting a Moon Man was the same as winning the Pulitzer, maybe he’d have more of a point. Maybe he didn’t get hugged enough as a child?

Thoughts? On any of this diamond-filled drama?

Stay tuned for Fashion Week updates as the week progresses! I love this time of year!
