Is Paris Hilton the latest paparazzi princess to add jewelry thief to her illustrious resume?
According to the New York Daily News, the ‘heirhead’ is being sued by German insurance giant, Allianz, for not returning $60,000 worth of Damiani loaner jewelry that was stolen (and subsequently recovered) from her house in that notorious celebrity jewelry crime spree back in 2009.
Why do I feel like I’ve been in this movie before?
“Despite having recovered Damiani’s jewelry, [Hilton has] failed to return all of the jewelry to Damiani as required by the Agreements,” the suit said.
In court paper, Allianz said Damiani in 2007 loaned Hilton $60,000 of jewelry to wear for public appearances. As part of the deal, Hilton agreed to stash the jewelry in a safe or a vault whenever she wasn’t wearing it.
But, or course, our Paris does whatever she darn well pleases – so she left the baubles for the world to grab in her unlocked, unalarmed Beverly Hills mansion. And now that the police have long recovered the stolen bling, she just hasn’t ‘bothered’ to return it to its rightful owners.
I’m of half a mind to think she’s doing it to get back in the headlines after Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian stole her ‘famous for being famous’ thunder this year. But my guess is? She’s just not into details.
No comment yet from the Hilton camp. Why can’t these ladies get their diamond details down? Is this just poor planning or an ‘I’m above it all’ attitude gone bad?
Diamond divas and jewelry hounds? It’s that time of year again. Victoria’s Secret has announced that model Marisa Miller will be the lucky angel to adorn their latest bling-filled B cup (ok, C cup), and the diamond details are as stunning as the pricetag.
We’re talking $3 mil, folks. That’s a lot of lingerie.
Designed by luxe jewelry house, Damiani, the bra features 2,355 white and cognac diamonds – each one set by hand in a feather outline, one at a time for a total of 150 carats. The centerpiece is a 16-carat heart-shaped champagne diamond (a big diamond color trend for the holiday season – stay tuned).
The detail is admittedly exquisite – with each feather mounted and sewn by hand (if lined up they would cover a distance of 3 feet) using a team of 15 artisans who worked over 800 hours in Damiani’s workshop in Valenza, where the company was founded in 1924.
The bra will be featured in the Victoria’s Secret Christmas Dreams & Fantasies Catalog in mailboxes starting this weekend. And for all you guys out there this one’s for you:
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. EST. on CBS. Set your DVRs, fellas.
(Who am I kidding? This entire post is for you)
Sharon Stone is proving that she’s hotter than ever with a sparkling new job – she’s the new face of the super-chic Italian jewelry house Damiani. She joins a star-studded list of Hollywood hotties that have partnered with Damiani in the past – they include: Brad Pitt, Sophia Loren, Gwyneth Paltrow and Isabella Rossellini.
The new Damiani advertising campaign features an uber-glam Stone fashioned as iconic women, including Amelia Earhart and Eve (as in Adam and Eve). According to the company, ‘the campaign epitomizes female icons throughout legend and history — women who can be what they want and go beyond the limits allowed. These are women who are beautiful, romantic, tender, charming, brave, confident, courageous and full of mystery, who always feel at ease regardless of their environment.’
That is certainly true for Ms. Stone, although I’m thinking she probably wouldn’t be too much at ease in China any time soon.
