3 Push Present Tips: Celebrating Duchess Kate & Moms-To-Be

We’re sure you’ve already heard the news – our favorite style icon Duchess Kate and hubby Prince William are expecting their second child! Prince George’s little sibling should arrive any day now. We’d like to congratulate Duchess Kate and celebrate all moms-to-be, with three tips for the perfect push present (all jewelry related of course). After all, you know mom deserves a gift. Check out our push present tips below, and some of our favorite celeb moms decked out in jewels with their little ones.

Diamond Jewelry

Is mom-to-be’s jewelry style chic and classic like Duchess Kate’s? We’re positive diamonds are the ideal push present for her. We suggest an elegant pair of diamond stud earrings or a diamond encrusted drop necklace or bangle. CLICK HERE to shop for a diamond jewelry push present.

Pink or Blue Jewelry

Queen Bey loves to accessorize with some major bling and colorful jewelry (her daughter’s name is Blue Ivy…!). If mom-to-be’s jewelry style is in line with celebrity mom Beyoncé’s, then she’d probably love some pink or blue jewelry (pink for a girl and blue for a boy). We suggest a pink or blue pendant or pair of earrings, or if the sex of the baby will be a surprise, then why not get her a ring with both some masculine and feminine colors. CLICK HERE to shop for a pink jewelry push present, and CLICK HERE to shop for a blue jewelry push present.

Meaningful Mom Jewelry

Celebrity mom Gwyneth Paltrow has several jewelry pieces that she wears often. If this sounds like mom-to-be to you, then we have a feeling she’d like some meaningful mom jewelry. We suggest a mother and child pendant or a boy or girl charm for her charm bracelet (you can add on charms to the collection for special occasions!). From the catwalk to Coachella, the statement pendant knows no boundaries. A chic and sleek trick to shying away from those bigger-than-life bibs, take a gander through our top fave pieces spotted on A-list celebs. Click on any one of these covetable sparklers to get the look for less!

Jewel-gawking is one of our all-time favorite things to do. We’re sure as jewelry lovers, you know exactly what we’re talking about (right…?) To celebrate April’s birthstone, the diamond, we’ve compiled a fun slideshow of eight of the world’s largest diamonds, ranging from 350 carats to 3167 carats. Can you say bling bling? Check em’ out, and if you’re in the market for some new diamonds, shop our diamonds collection.

From diamond drops to crystalline bibs the 2015 Golden Globes kicked off with a blast of icy white jewels trailblazing their way down the red carpet. Chandelier earrings and shoulder dusters made a fierce comeback while decadent diamond bib necklaces stole the scene. Wintry white and majestic metallic gowns ignited the red carpet with lush crimson dresses adding a sensual yet classic edge. Weigh in on your favorite looks and stay tuned for our Golden Globes 2015 sale.

More Cannes Film Festival Jewelry!

The Cannes Film Festival is still going strong, so you know what that means – we’re here to report on the greatest Cannes celeb jewelry looks! Just like Cannes opening day, statement earrings were a hot red carpet trend this past weekend, but we also spotted some beautiful necklaces and bracelets.

Salma Hayek looked beautiful as usual in a strapless pink Yves Saint Laurent gown. She accessorized with a diamond snake Cartier bracelet that wrapped up her wrist. What a unique (and blingy) statement piece!

Cate Blanchett paired a bejeweled Givenchy gown with a pair of unique sapphire Chopard chandelier earrings. We think her look worked nicely for the premiere of “How to Train Your Dragon 2” (doesn’t the bodice of her gown remind you of a dragon?).

Cheryl Cole rocked the red carpet in a strapless black Monique Lhuillier gown, but what really caught our eyes were her extremely large monochrome drop earrings. Check out the size of those babies!

Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor kept it traditional with a pale pink Anamika Khanna sari dress. She completed her look with a stunning necklace (choker’s are in back in ladies) designed by her mom Sunita Kapoor (aw!). Love this look!

One word came to mind when visiting the Victoire de Castellane “Precious Objects jewelry exhibit at the Gagosian Gallery this past weekend. That word was “wow.” Shortly followed by, “Can we have just one of these beautiful pieces (pretty please)?” Then, “Can we try on at least one diamond ring?” To which the answer was yes! Imagine our excitement. We snapped some photos of our NYC jewelry excursion to share with you.

Victoire de Castellane is a jewelry designer who lives and works in Paris. She made her first piece of jewelry at age five and moved on to design costume jewelry for Chanel at age fourteen (yes, you read that correctly). In 1998 Castellane joined Dior as the first Creative Director in their new jewelry department – her current role today.

Castellane’s “Precious Objects” exhibit, which is running now through next Saturday, April 26 at the Gagosian Gallery in NYC, tells a story of women under the influence of hallucinatory drugs. Each piece of jewelry is unique in its design, coloring, material, and texture. The exhibit showcases the most exquisite bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings in yellow and white gold, platinum, diamonds, jasper, rubies, opals, sapphires, emeralds, and fine stones (all the good things in life!).

If you get the chance, go visit the Gagosian Gallery and take a look at the “Precious Objects” exhibit. You won’t be disappointed. Make a fun weekend outing out of it (Central Park is right around the corner)!

A Midwest metal dealer purchased a rare gold Faberge egg worth $33 million at an antiques mart. Yes you read that right – the egg is worth $33 million. It gets even better, the metal dealer meant to melt down the egg for scrap!

Luckily, he googled the words “egg” and “Vacheron Constantin,” and found an article on surviving Faberge eggs that quoted Kieran McCarthy, Director of London antique dealer Wartski, and showed a photo of his egg. Google knows all!

McCarthy commented, “[The egg] contained a Vacheron Constantin watch, so [the metal dealer] figured he could sell it slightly above market value.” Purchased from the antique mart for $14,000 he was planning on selling it for $15,000.

McCarthy traveled to the man’s home where he found the egg in the kitchen next to a cupcake (where else?). When he told the metal dealer what he had discovered and he dropped to the floor. That would probably be our first reaction as well, and then of course we would begin drafting a list of future purchases, diamond jewelryobviously included.

Wondering just why this egg is so important and worth $33 mil? It is one of the lost Imperial Eggs designed by Carl Faberge. There are 50 imperial eggs in total. The location of 42 eggs is known, but eight are missing. Five are thought to be destroyed, but there are three out there in the world somewhere, well now two (we wouldn’t mind finding one in our Easter basket).

It’s reported the egg has been sold for $33 million to a private collector, although the exact total can’t be confirmed. The collector is allowing the egg to be displayed at Wartski in London from April 14 to April 17, so check it out if you’re in London!

If we could, we would definitely head over to the Wartskiand memorize every detail of that egg. We’re thinking “egg hunt” if you know what we mean…

Kate, William, and George arriving in NZ, Photo Credit: www.dailymail.co.uk

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Baby George are officially on tour in New Zealand, and the Duchess of Cambridge looked amazing as usual, just stepping off the plane in a double-breasted red military-style coat by Catherine Walker. We don’t know about you, but post-flight we’re lucky to look even remotely stylish in our yoga pants, hoodie, and sneaks.

We all know that Kate had her choice of any of the Queen’s jewels for the tour (lucky!), but in true Kate-style, she showed some local love to New Zealand jewelers Tory & Ko. The brand’s designers sent four of Kate’s favorite pieces, in hopes that she’ll wear them in New Zealand during her tour.

Kate’s selection included a pair of blue topaz bow earrings, a cultured pearl and diamond necklace with matching earrings from the bespoke collection, and a pair of citrine bow earrings from the Pretty Collection.
