Scarlett Johansson Jewelry Look for Less

Scarlett Johansson (ScarJo) is known as one of the hottest women on the planet – what a title!

We’re big fans of hers, and love keeping tabs on her red-carpet looks. Recently, ScarJo has been promoting her latest Captain America 2 film.

Check out the photo of her below (pregs & fabulous!), at the UK premiere for the movie. She looks just stunning in her red dress with matching lip, but what we’re really envious of is her jewelry. Look at that necklace. Can you say bling bling?

Get in touch with your old-school self with some classic black and white (b&w)!

We know it’s spring and this season is about color, but we’ve always been fans of simple b&w. There has never been a time when our trusty black dresses have let us down (thank you!). These two colors are forever chic and timeless.

As for jewelry, pearls and diamonds fall into the b&w category, and we all know that these are necessities (hint hint, mother’s day!). The great thing about b&w jewelry, is that you can pair it with basically anything. Re-create the Audrey Hepburn look with a LBD (little black dress) and a pearl necklace. Throw on some diamonds with a scoop-neck top and shine just like Ingrid Bergman.

Duchess Kate jewelry alert!

The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William are getting ready to head down-under to Australia and New Zealand for a three-week tour. Kate will have more than 30 outfit changes during the course of the trip, and the Queen has given her total access to her private collection of jewelry. Lucky lady!

She is able to choose as many pieces as she would like to accessorize her already-amazing wardrobe. The full details aren’t out yet, but Kate will be wearing a mix of off-the-rack and custom pieces (see, this is why we love her, she’s just like us!).

Kate, Prince William, and their adorable little one, Prince George, will have a total of 48 engagements. These range from a white water ride, to royal walkabouts, and even a yacht race (can we go?).

Neiman Marcus’ over-the-top 2013 Christmas Book is out and includes one ‘Fantasy Gift’ that’s already on our letter to Santa.

Called the “Ultimate Diamond Experience”, Forevermark diamonds is offering a 25-carat rough diamond and the chance to see its journey from the mine to your finger all while staying in swanky hotels and resorts and dining with industry execs. All for a cool $1.9 million. Here is the play-by-play according to Forevermark:

– A first class flight to London an overnight at a 5-star hotel.

– A trip to the De Beers headquarters in London to receive your diamond in the rough where you will name it (yes, name it) and meet the master craftsman who will teach you about its unique number invisibly inscribed on it after it is hand-cut and polished to perfection.

– This is followed by a private tour of The Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. Note: Meeting Queen Elizabeth is not part of the deal, but hey, you never know!

-After that you’ll dine with De Beers CEO Phillippe Meillier, Forevermark CEO Stephen Lussier and designer Maria Canale at the private Queens House.

– From there you will head to South Africa, taking a trip through time to the 19th century diamond rush and explore diamond mines while staying in a boutique hotel in Johannesburg.

– Then you will take a vessel to the coast of Namibia, where your 25-carat diamond was discovered, and take a tour of the rough-diamond sorting houses and children’s community projects supported by DeBeers.

– Before heading back to the real world, spend three days and two nights at a luxury lodge in Tswalu, South Africa.

– Then once back on U.S. soil, on day 11 of your trip,  you’ll head to the Big Apple to meet with jewelry designer Maria Canale who will design the jewel that holds your perfectly polished 25-carat diamond.

Surely there’s at least one lucky diamond diva out there who will find this in her stocking come Christmas time, right?

What do you think? Chance of a lifetime or cheesy beyond belief?

Back in May, we heard that Parisian jeweler Cartier had created a few replicas of Grace Kelly’s jewelry collection for a new biopic starring Nicole Kidman, directed by Olivier Dahan. Well, fellow jewelry mavens, get a tissue to wipe the drool off now because the trailer for Grace of Monaco has arrived!

As if we didn’t have enough reasons to be jealous of Nicole Kidman, enter five exact replicas of Grace Kelly’s jewels that Mrs. Keith Urban got to wear while filming. The baubles that have been recreated are a 10.47 carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, a diamond-encrusted poodle broach, a three-strand diamond necklace and a diamond and ruby tiara.

Ahhh the life of a Hollywood A-lister. Check out some of these jewels our girl Nicole wore while filming.

Check out the trailer here.

You know we’ll have our blinders on for all the blingy jewelry moments in this film (while we play ‘Pretty, Pretty Princess’ and weep and eat Ben & Jerry’s, longing for our dreams of being a princess to finally come true).

Victoria’s Secret Is A Diamond Bombshell

Ah, Victoria. That pesky lingerie mass marketer whose ‘secret’ is to lure us into buying overpriced skivvies by parading around those insipid angels is at it again.

This time, they’re putting the impossibly beautiful Adriana Lima in their Bombshell Fantasy Bra – a cross-your-heart creation made out of 2,000 diamonds in a star-burst design. With a price tag of $3 million, it isn’t the most expensive Fantasy Bra in their coffers (Gisele Bundchen wore a $12.5 million cup holder a few years back), but it will certainly make heads turn and wallets burn.

Ms. Lima’s ‘ice chest’ will make its sparkling debut at the Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show, which airs November 30th on CBS.

One angel who will be noticeably absent this year is Heidi Klum, who ‘retired her wings’ with the company earlier this month.

One day you’re ‘in’? And the next? You’re free to eat again.

Diamond dust cleans teeth! We know it sounds crazy, but it’s true. At the New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry (NYCCD), Dr. Emanuel Layliev uses actual diamond dust as a “mild abrasive” before teeth whitening. The diamond dust is included in a paste and then applied with an electronic toothbrush.

So how does it work? Dr. Layliev explains diamond dust “gently cleans the pores of the tooth enamel, allowing the bleaching process to work more effectively.”
After the diamond dust application, Dr. Layliev uses the Philips Zoom whitening treatment, lightening teeth under a bleaching lamp. The entire diamond dust QuickWhite treatment costs $250.
A handful of celebrities including Kim Cattrall, Usher, Tom Brady, and Hugh Jackman, are known to frequent NYCCD, and you have to admit that their teeth are all pretty perfect.

We don’t know about you, but as lovers of all things blingy and shiny, we would gladly have our teeth cleaned with diamond dust any day!
Here are some more diamond oddities for you. Kanye and contacts. Enough said.

So no one wants to go to prison – particularly if you’re a gazillionaire rapper. But Lil’ Wayne apparently has luck and bad dental hygiene on his side these days as the sentencing hearing for his gun possesion charge dating back to 2007 has been postponed twice – and for two bizarre reasons.

The first was emergency dental work – a whopping 8 root canals – scheduled due to decay caused by his signature blinged out grill – a diamond, gold and platinum masterpiece worth a reported $150,000! Weezy – get the floss out dude!

No word yet on whether LW will get to bring his bling in the big house (Riker’s no less), as there are rules about bringing in valuables that can later be traded for cigarettes and the like.

So March 2nd was the re-scheduled sentencing date post oral surgery, but in a bizarre turn the courthouse caught on fire that morning causing yet another delay. According to Rolling Stone, it remains unclear whether Lil Wayne’s next hearing will be moved to another venue or postponed until a later date.
