Everyone has their idea of what heaven is like. For some it’s angels, harps and flowing white robes. For others, it’s pearly gates, flowers and childhood pets. For me, it’s free-flowing wine, endless food and as many jewels as I can hold. I think my heaven just came to earth.

Fashion Week Daily reports on the latest Chopard offering to celebrate a ‘heavenly’ festival. Over in the Napa Valley, the Festival del Sole is taking place with everything a decadent blogger could wish for.

The Festival, which runs from July 12-20, offers concerts and presentations followed by five-star meals and select wines at the best gastronomical venues throughout Napa Valley. Why didn’t I know about this earlier?

Chopard, the luxury sponsor of the event, created a necklace and earring set that plays on the celebrated vineyards of the Valley. The grapevine motif jewelry set features a necklace containing 22 carats of white and colored diamonds and 445 carats of colored briolette gemstones set in 18 karat rose gold.

The earrings, also set in 18 karat rose gold, feature acolored diamonds and 144 carats of handpicked gemstones.

These really are some gourmet jewels.

Ellen’s Engagement Ring To Portia

According to People.com, a jubilant Ellen DeGeneres is about to tie the knot with long-time girlfriend Portia De Rossi. At the recent 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, Ellen announced that they’ve set a wedding day – this follows their May announcement that they planned to make it ‘official’ following California’s Supreme Court ruling that the previous ban on gay marriages was unconstitutional.

It was a happy night for the talk-show host and her fiancee (who was sporting a stunning Neil Lane ring that featured a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds) – she went home for the fourth year running with the title of outstanding talk-show host.

People.com says they are still preparing “the dream wedding,” which DeGeneres says “is very stressful. It is crazy. My gardener is now invited.” The 50-year-old four-time Emmy winner said that only “incredible people” would perform, and parts of the wedding will be aired on her talk show.

If you haven’t got the green message yet – then let me reiterate – GO GREEN. Being green isn’t just about recycling or changing the lightbulbs. It’s not only hybrid cars or eco-friendly products – its far more simplier….. It’s simply about having some respect for what’s outside.

I certainly am not a green preacher. I admit, not all my lightbulbs are the ‘green’ friendly type. I try to recycle but fall short most of the time and sometimes the price of organic drives me back to the chemically altered mutant veggies. Going green is a process for most of us – its just one step at a time.
The green message though it filtering through into so many aspects of life. I mean, take a look at what people are wearing. It’s not only natural fibers, but natural colors such as white and beige and of course green, green, green.
Jewelry-wise most people think just of an emerald as a green gem. (Color-wise not eco-wise). But there are so many more; green sapphires, topaz, green diamonds, green amethyst, tzavorite, periodot and on and on.
So wear some green and take a step – you never know where it may lead.
