Heidi Klum’s Halloween Hangover

Halloween in Hollywood means one thing: Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween bash. And while the D-list dared to dress-up in droves this year, I’m still looking for a crazy jewelry juggernaut costume like Paris Hilton’s diamond display from last year.

Alas.

Here are some of the photo highlights – including my favorite art-imitating-life-imitating-art entry: the Napster co-Founder, Sean Parker, dressing up like Justin Timberlake. Clever.

Yes. That’s Heidi Klum in a Transformer-inspired get up on stilts.

Spotlight on Spooky Jewelry

So you weren’t invited to Heidi Klum’s famous Halloween party. Again. That doesn’t mean you have to throw out the bling with the bathwater!

I’m still working on my Kanye West/diamond teeth costume (Heidi? Your loss, sister.), but I hunted down these fun finds to throw in the spooky style rotation in the meantime:

Gemstones Meet ‘The Great Pumpkin’:

Add a splash of orange spice to go with your little black dress – like this Great Pumpkin-esque cocktail ring that could work with many a fall ensemble.

Get Back in Black:

Get in touch with your dark side with some sleek onyx jewelry in any incarnation. And one of those Darth Vader voice boxes.

Kitty Cat Couture:

I’ve had my eye on this cat pendant for a while now. Love the price. Love the chocolate diamonds. Love that it will satisfy my maternal instincts without making too many demands on my personal time.

Skeletal Chic:

You know you have some skull jewelry lying around from your Morrissey-loving goth girl past.  Taylor Momsen didn’t invent this wheel!

P.S. Click here for a fun find you can grab if you had Heidi’s accessory budget. And the stomach to wear possum bones.

One more week ’til Halloween! Got some costume ideas you’d like to share?  Weigh in!

Victoria’s Secret Is A Diamond Bombshell

Ah, Victoria. That pesky lingerie mass marketer whose ‘secret’ is to lure us into buying overpriced skivvies by parading around those insipid angels is at it again.

This time, they’re putting the impossibly beautiful Adriana Lima in their Bombshell Fantasy Bra – a cross-your-heart creation made out of 2,000 diamonds in a star-burst design. With a price tag of $3 million, it isn’t the most expensive Fantasy Bra in their coffers (Gisele Bundchen wore a $12.5 million cup holder a few years back), but it will certainly make heads turn and wallets burn.

Ms. Lima’s ‘ice chest’ will make its sparkling debut at the Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show, which airs November 30th on CBS.

One angel who will be noticeably absent this year is Heidi Klum, who ‘retired her wings’ with the company earlier this month.

One day you’re ‘in’? And the next? You’re free to eat again.

Let’s face it. We’re all still drooling over Angelina Jolie’s jaw-dropping emerald earrings. Am I right?

We’re all wondering how much they cost – and most importantly – how on earth can we afford a pair of our own?

While I am still researching the Lorraine Schwartz price for those jewelry hounds who are gluttons for punishment – I have great news for folks who want to get the same Angelina emeralds for a fraction of the price!

The new Jewelry.com has a brand new feature called, Celebrity Style, where they focus on important celebrity looks you can get for a lot, lot less. Angelina’s emeralds, Kate’s diamonds, Heidi’s earrings and more are featured in the freshly posted Oscar feature.

Diamonds never strutted like this before! This weekend, Miami played host to the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and the glittering angels didn’t disappoint.

Thirty-five supermodels walked 64 slinky selections down the runway in the recently renovated Fontainebleau Hotel. R & B singer, Usher, started the show followed by the leggy Adriana Lima, who wore the famous $5 million black diamond Fantasy Bra.

Designed by Martin Katz, the ultimate in luxury lingerie is set with 3,575 black diamonds, 117 certified one-carat white round diamonds and 34 rubies. If that weren’t enough, two huge black diamond drops weighing in at 50 carats each swing down from the center.

Adriana Lima, on wearing the bra, said,

“I always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra. It’s the first time that Victoria’s Secret makes a black diamond bra. A woman could definitely buy it if they love it – and men, too.”

But the night’s show stopper wasn’t the most expensive C cup to see the light of day, it was Heidi Klum in a pink and red winged get-up that truly ruled the runway. Decorated with what appear to be diamond and gold jeweled accessories, the phoenix-esque Klum looked stunning as she strutted her stuff for the grand finale.

Celebrities appearing on the Victoria’s Secret pink carpet included Paris Hilton, P Diddy, Russell Simmons, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Kardashian and perhaps the only one who can truly afford the black diamond fantasy bra, one Martha Stewart.

CBS will Bra-dcast the show in its glittering entirety on December 3rd.

With the make up stains now a permanent fixture on your Joker Nurse costume and your candy collection down to the B list, we thought we’d share our favorite celebrity-bejeweled costume to cure your Halloween hangover.

There were several high profile bashes on both coasts, including Kim Kardashian’s L.A. masquerade party and the soiree at the Roosevelt Hotel. But perhaps the hottest ticket was for Heidi Klum’s Halloween Party in the big apple- and fittingly her scary Indian goddess costume takes our top prize.

According to US Magazine, Klum got the idea from her assistant.

“My husband [Seal] and I were in India last year, so she said, ‘Why don’t you do an Indian goddess? Like a scary Indian goddess?’ And I said ‘OK!'”

“So then she Googled around and she found Kali and showed me a picture, and I loved it,” Klum said. “I loved it because she’s so mean and killed all these different people and [had] fingers hanging off [her] and little shrunken heads everywhere.”

According to Indian tradition, Kali’s jewelry consists of earrings made from two dead bodies and a necklace of skulls. We’re glad Heidi took a less literal approach – but it’s clear the gold fan earrings, elaborate headdress and elbow-length bangles (on all eight of her arms) were meant to look larger than life.

The party took place at 1 Oak in New York City and revelers included the likes of Pink and Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano.

Jewelry Fashion Dazzles for Emmy’s Diamond
Anniversary

Emmy's Fashion Winners

Diamonds dripped on the red carpet as TV’s biggest stars celebrated the Primetime Emmy Award’s diamond anniversary. Appropriately, the celebs (and their devoted stylists) didn’t skimp in the jewelry department. Diamond statement necklaces, diamond right hand rings and the new diamond pin trend made bold appearances along with earring looks that ranged from the traditional stud to the dangling chandelier.

Fashion winners included Sandra Oh in a stunning Oscar de la Renta retro-style black lace dress with a ribbon sash and an icey 5.5 carats of emerald cut, Bulgari diamonds on each ear. America Ferrara was anything but ugly in a dramatic Fred Leighton 19th Century diamond flower necklace, paired with 2.5-carat, old mine-cut diamond pendant earrings, a rose-cut diamond cluster bracelet and a 19th century diamond line bracelet.

Emmy's Fashion Winners

Host Heidi Klum’s gorgeous diamond butterfly earrings far outshined her flat onstage performance. Brooke Shields and Nicolette Sheridan dazzled in the season’s hottest colors: fuschia and plum, and their diamond statement earrings rivaled those of Kate Walsh in Neil Lane and the always-stunning Debra Messing in 19th century diamond fan pendants from Fred Leighton.

Perhaps the most anticipated red carpet return was Cristina Applegate who didn’t disappoint in gorgeous fancy colored diamond chandelier drops and a trendy asymmetrical Reem Acra gown with metallic patches.

“I think Applegate was one of the best dressed of the night,” said stylist Marie Alice Stephenson. “She was glamorous, elegant and she pushed it.”

Emmy's Fashion Missteps

And while it’s hard to make diamonds look bad, of course there were your tried-and-true fashion missteps. Actress Kat Kramer was all wrong in a yellow gown and diamond earrings so long they almost scraped her navel. Kathy Griffin – love the show, hate the gaudy metallic number, the goddess hair and the gold earrings. Ghost Whisperer, Jennifer Love Hewitt ruined a gorgeous Carolina Herrara gown with a misplaced diamond Y-neck and a slumber party-inspired updo. And actress, Christina DeRosa in that unfortunate white fan dress? Well, words fail us here.

If you too want to dazzle in honor of Emmy, visit Jewelry.com for a dizzying array of diamond jewelry styles from statement necklaces to drop earrings to the always-empowering right hand ring. And for a complete list of last night’s big winners, click here.
