We’re sure you have all heard about the event of the year already. You know what we’re talking about (at least we hope you do)… – Kimye’s wedding! That would be Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

From the pre-wedding brunch at designer Valentino’s French chateau, to the rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles (yup, you read that correctly), and the actual wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy, the entire Kardashian clan was decked out in Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. The designer, who is one of the most sought-after jewelry designer’s in the world, is actually one of Kim’s close friends (of course she is).
Here are some of our favorite Lorraine Schwartz jewels from the wedding. We wouldn’t mind owning at least one of these gorgeous pieces!

Schwartz designed the celeb couple’s wedding bands herself. Kim’s ring was a handmade diamond band, while Kanye’s was a handmade gold band. Kim accessorized her wedding outfit with her 15 carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring, and a pair of Martin Katz 18K gold diamond earrings accented by 100 smaller diamonds. The earrings were actually a present Kanye gave Kim more than a year ago. Aw!

It’s everywhere, so we had to write about it. That’s right, Kimye’s (Kim Kardashian’s and Kanye West’s), Vogue magazine cover. There has been a ton of controversy involving this cover. Celebs such as Sarah Michelle Gellar tweeted, “Well……I guess I’m canceling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me?”

Frankly, one controversial cover isn’t going to force us to cancel our Vogue subscription. Flipping through the glossies is an addiction that we’re not afraid to hide (along with jewelry of course!).
Fashion-goddess and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour responded to the harsh critics:
“There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason. Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”

What do you think of the latest Vogue cover?

We for one, love watching Kim flash her bling around. Here are some of our favorite photos.

Third time will hopefully be a charm for reality TV star Kim Kardashian as she said yes to boyfriend and baby daddy, Kanye West’s proposal – and a 15 carat flawless diamond stunner.

On October 21st (her 33rd birthday), West took Kardashian to a rented-out AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Fireworks, a 50-piece orchestra and a jumbo screen flashing “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” were all part of the over-the-top proposal. And we haven’t even mentioned the ring yet, although I’m sure you can only imagine!

A proposal that extravagant can only be paired with a ring topping out at 15 carats, and designed by none other than Lorraine Schwartz. (She also designed the ring Kris Humphries gave to Kim in May 2011. Awkward!) According to Lorraine Schwartz herself, West was very involved in the process and wanted to pick out the perfect stone. He found perfection in a flawless 15-carat bauble. No word yet on the price. Rumor has it that West had three different rings created and only hours before the proposal did he make his final decision on this stunner.

This engagement comes just weeks after Kim K.’s old engagement ring from NBA player Kris Humphries sold on the auction block for $749,000. Ahhh sweet reality TV revenge!

Too bad Kanye’s last name didn’t start with an H. They could have saved some cash and use the same monogram from Kim’s 2011 nuptials to Humphries.

Best of luck to the happy couple. We’ll all be waiting for Sunday nights at 10pm for your new reality show.

P.S. In true Kanye-style, a prenup is currently being drawn up (We want prenup! We want prenup!).

Marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries in August 2011.

Rumor has it that Christie’s will be auctioning off an engagement ring that looks mighty close to the one Kim Kardashian wore on her finger during her short-lived rendezvous with Kris Humphries.

Say What?

Yup, apparently Kris Humphries is finding closure in that train wreck of a relationship by auctioning off the 20 carat diamond bling that will be featured at Christie’s “Magnificent Jewels” sale on October 15th in NYC. At least one good thing will have come out of that marriage.

If you blinked in 2011, you probably missed the rocky marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. The ‘KK’ duo was engaged for 90 days and married for 72. To make things even more interesting their divorce only took 535 days to finalize. I guess after 162 days, I would be ‘feelin’ the burn’ from wearing that rock, too. Just kidding – Christie’s? You can donate it to me.

Kim Kardashian’s 20 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring.
Ring to be auctioned at Christie’s on October 15th.

While Christie’s is keeping their lips sealed on this one, the ring in question is so similar to the bauble once found on Kim K.’s finger (both designed by Lorraine Schwartz, too), the rumor mill seems pretty confident.

The ring features a 16.21 carat emerald-cut diamond flanked by two 1.8 carat trapezoid-cut diamonds. Its value is estimated at $300,000 – $500,000, but if there’s any possibility that this ring was worn by reality TV royalty, we can only imagine what it will sell for. Especially since it was rumored to be worth somewhere around $2 million at the time of their engagement. Good News? A portion of the proceeds will benefit a charity.

US Magazine said it best, “You can’t buy love, but you can buy the material possessions that are left behind when that love disappears.”

I would make a joke about this bauble selling faster than their marriage lasted, but it actually will sell faster I’m sure!

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries finally tied the knot yesterday at a private estate in Montecito, California – and while pictures of the Kardashian wedding gown by Vera Wang and wedding ring by Lorraine Schwartz are closely guarded by People  – the details (gasp!) have leaked and I’ve got ’em all right here for you.

Read ’em and weep, jewelry hounds!

Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Dress

The reality star diva wore a strapless ivory Vera Wang gown with tulle skirt, basque waist and Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and “epic” train. She wore her hair up with a veil that had a headpiece bedazzled with diamonds that rested on her forehead. Her bouquet was white roses.

Kim had another TWO dresses for later in the evening, both in ivory and by Vera Wang along with a Judith Leiber clutch. One was a Georgette mermaid gown with Chantilly lace appliqué plus organza petals and sprig embroidery. One was in satin with a crepe-back, a V-neck and a circle skirt.
The groom wore an outfit by Ermenegildo Zegna, which included a white tuxedo jacket and shirt with white bow tie and black tuxedo trousers. He changed into an outfit to match his groomsmen at the reception.

Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Ring

Kim’s favorite jewelry designer, Lorraine Schwartz, designed the wedding rings that made their appearance in a pink box, according to entertainmentwise.com. While details of the carat count are still pending – why don’t we all just gasp again at the $2 million engagement ring that will be its blingy partner for life (also by Lorraine Schwartz).

The Wedding Party/Guests

Kourtney and Khloe were Kim’s co-maids of honor. Kendall, Kylie and Kris’ sister Kaela were bridesmaids. Kim’s nephew, Mason, was the ring bearer and her stepfather Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle.

Mom, Kris, was lowered from the ceiling into a bubbling glass of champagne, wearing nothing but hundred dollar bills and a four-year contract from Ryan Seacrest….

The eclectic guest list included a who’s who of D-listers and reality darlings including – Demi Lovato, Babyface, Vera Wang, Mario Lopez, Mark Ballas,  Ciara, Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Alan Thicke, Cheryl Burke, Melanie Brown, Maria Menounos, Sugar Ray Leonard, Serena Williams, Kathie Lee Gifford, Brittny Gastineau, Greta Van Susteren, Jillian Barberie, Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne, Scottie and Larsa Pippen, and  – the topper of them all?

The original-gangsta momager, Dina Lohan, and her illustrious offspring – Ali and Lindsay Lohan!

But Kris Jenner wouldn’t want us all to live out our days without a front row seat at her OWN daughter’s wedding.  That’s why she and Ryan Seacrest are bringing us – Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event on Oct. 9th AND 10th!

C’mon, looky-loos! Keep up!

Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring is the perfect fit for the uber-reality starlet’s personal style. It’s bold. It’s beautiful. And (good gracious) is it BIG!

New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries popped the question after dating Kim for only 6 months with a whopping 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz stunner, People reports!  (Schwartz is a longtime friend of the Kardashian clan and is known for her ‘bigger means better’ bling on all the important red carpet events.)

“It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” Kardashian told People. “It’s perfect.”

And TMZ is reporting the stone is valued at over $2 million smackers! (someone get me a chair….)

The 16.5-carat emerald-cut center stone is flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids, for a total weight of 20.5 carats! Humphries even managed to work with Schwartz on the design behind Kim’s back.

“[Lorraine] always listened to what I would want and the shapes I love. I had said I loved an emerald cut and they were scheming and plotting for a while,” she explained.

No wedding date is set yet, and while Humphries isn’t keen on a big celebration he joked with Kim’s momager, Kris Jenner, that he’d be “fine if there were mini-horses there.”

Careful what you wish for,  sport…

Remember sister Khloe Kardashian’s basketball-bought bling? She too dated her basketball beau, Lamar Odom, for a mere six months before gettin’ hitched. Way to take your time, ladies.

Remember her carat count? Re-live all the Kardashian diamond details with me here!

Celebrity Jewelry Line Round-Up

What would our lives be without the constant stream of celebrities selling jewelry? It seems like yesterday that Nicole Richie was one of the first to make a successful go of it, but now every reality show star and D-lister is throwing their hat in the ring.

Here are the latest names list to jump into the jewelry biz:

1. Nicky Hilton

Paris Hilton’s more productive younger sister is launching a high quality/low price jewelry line inspired by her own collection.

“I’m a crazy jewelry collector,” Hilton tells WWD. “I’ve always known since I was a teenager that I wanted to do a line. Whenever I bought something, whether at a flea market in Paris or a bazaar in India, I’ve been collecting pieces.”

Her line will have styles inspired by her mother and grandmother’s David Webb pieces in addition to some with an edgier feel a la spikes and snakes. The collection will range from $35-$480 and will be sold exclusively at Endless.com before branching off to other locations.

2. Priscilla Presley

Priscilla Presley’s line for QVC is the aptly named Priscilla Presley Collection, a line of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings that’s part rock-and-roll, part red carpet glam.

The former Mrs. Elvis launched her line yesterday with prices that range from $35 to $170.

3. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe already have a jewelry line with the brand Virgins, Saints & Angels, but Kim’s solo stint with Loren Jewels brings her name to a higher-priced couture line of gems.

Loren Ridinger has often put her Loren Jewels on red carpet divas like Eva Longoria Parker, Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys, according to Luxist. The blue and white diamond earrings shown above have 38.62 carats of diamonds and sell for a cool $19,000.

4. Shoshanna Gruss (Lonstein)

This former Jerry Seinfeld flame and successful fashion designer is partnering with QVC darling, Judith Ripka, on a costume jewelry line that includes crystal heavy pieces and statement necklaces that sell for $20 to $80.

“I wanted my costume jewelry line to have the same versatility as my clothing line–a collection of pieces that can make a seamless transition from day into evening. I love being able to wear a dress to a daytime luncheon and then out to a concert later that night, with just a change of jewelry and accessories,” Gruss told Fashionista.com

Her line launched yesterday on QVC with styles still available on www.qvc.com.

5. Christie Brinkley

Christie Brinkley’s line on (you guessed it…) QVC was inspired by her Hamptons lifestyle. The Christie Brinkley Jewelry Collection is done in sterling silver and includes bracelets, cocktail rings and dangle earrings with quartz, sapphires, topaz, agate and other gems. Prices range from $45 for a woven leather bracelet to the higher priced gemstone bracelet pictured here for $393.

“This line is a celebration of all the things I love.” said Brinkley in a press release.

Who is your favorite celebrity designer? Tori Spelling? Kelly Bensimon? Ramona Singer? I’m partial to Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow line. Weigh in!

Hoop earrings (aka: the little black dress of the jewelry world), are making a big splash on celebrities and fashionistas alike this season. And the good news is: you don’t have to jump through hoops to get a shining pair for your own jewelry box.

Classic hoops have always been a fashion staple for women of all ages, and while the style is great for anything from a board meeting to a girls’ night out, we’re also seeing them on the red carpets as celebrities and their stylists bring basics back to high fashion.

Beyonce wowed us at the VMAs with Lorraine Schwartz hoops rumored to be close to $1 million smackers, Kim K. wore a more classic hoop silhouette to the Emmys, and Padma Lakshmi threw in a bit of color to help her red carpet hoop-la.

Now I know you most likely already own a pair of classic gold hoops, but now is the time to take the look to new levels. Try a larger size. Add some color with a gemstone look. Grab a pair in a different metal. Go big with an all-diamond pair.

And Jewelry.com has hundreds of styles for your browsing pleasure from the retailers you trust at prices you can afford.
