Russian Star Elena Lenina Red Carpet Looks

When searching the web these past few weeks for the best Cannes celeb jewelry looks, we came across Elena Lenina (and included a photo of her in our Cannes Film Festival Jewelry post).

She is our new fave to follow – seriously, how can you not love (or hate) her crazy hair, outfits, and jewelry (Russian Lady Gaga maybe…?). Take a look at some of these looks.

For those of you wondering who Elena Lenina is (don’t worry, we didn’t know either), she is a Russian and French model, TV presenter, and writer. Elena is married to French businessman and aristocrat Pascal-Florent-Eduard. Check out Elena’s wedding hair. Talk about an up-do!

Which of the above is your favorite Elena Lenina look? We’re going to have to pick the pink dress with the huge ball chain necklace (or whatever it is), just because it’s so overtop that we can’t help but love it.

Kate, William, and George arriving in NZ, Photo Credit: www.dailymail.co.uk

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Baby George are officially on tour in New Zealand, and the Duchess of Cambridge looked amazing as usual, just stepping off the plane in a double-breasted red military-style coat by Catherine Walker. We don’t know about you, but post-flight we’re lucky to look even remotely stylish in our yoga pants, hoodie, and sneaks.

We all know that Kate had her choice of any of the Queen’s jewels for the tour (lucky!), but in true Kate-style, she showed some local love to New Zealand jewelers Tory & Ko. The brand’s designers sent four of Kate’s favorite pieces, in hopes that she’ll wear them in New Zealand during her tour.

Kate’s selection included a pair of blue topaz bow earrings, a cultured pearl and diamond necklace with matching earrings from the bespoke collection, and a pair of citrine bow earrings from the Pretty Collection.

Fashion Week Mayhem – A Jewelry Trend Recap

Marc Jacobs hit it out of the ballpark with his zany, suffragist, early Americana collection. His show was the talk of the town, yet editors and critics were clearly at a loss for words when trying to describe it. Style.com wins our vote with “Mary Poppins goes to Dubai” or “The King and Imeets The Postman Always Rings Twice”. You just have to see it to believe it. Necklaces the size of small handbags were just one of many layers to each outfit, yet his little straw hats just might be the accessory to steal the show this year.

Donna Karan continued to take inspiration from the streets, as her DKNY collection featured the layered chain trend with her must-have basics. Justin Timberlake’s new company, William Rast, followed suit as his country girl meets rock-and-roll line used chains and big leather cuffs with their varied interpretations of T-shirts, cut-offs and boots. Think Daisy Duke meets Chrissy Hynde.

Betsy Johnson’s flouncy, bouncy dresses were accented with a bow choker (another shape that is trending this season), statement necklaces or big bangles, and the Tory Burch show took the necklace-as-art look to a new level.

The hottest after party had to be for Marc Jacobs, as the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Anne Hathaway, Winona Ryder, Sofia Coppola and Jessica Simpson all jostled for his attention – and a seat at his exclusive 60-person sit-down steak dinner at Robert De Niro’s new Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca.

To grovel or not to grovel…it’s always the question at Fashion Week. And grovel is always the answer.

From train wreck to triumph, Britney Spears is on her way to making the biggest comeback the pop world has ever seen. The former teen queen spent a successful weekend in Europe where she picked up a coveted Bambi award and performed for the first tine since her disastrous appearance at 2007’s Video Music Awards.

And that’s just the beginning.

It seems like yesterday Spears was known for flashing the paparazzi, shaving her head bald, getting carried out of her home by paramedics and skipping child custody hearings to go on shopping sprees.

But in her documentary, Britney: For the Record, which aired on MTV last night, she opens up about the tough times. How her relationship with Justin left her ‘devastated’, and how she married Kevin Federline for the ‘wrong reasons’.

You can say that again.

In a particularly revealing section, we get to see first-hand how trapped she feels being chased by the paparazzi day and night. It is anything but glamorous.

Fairy godmother, Madonna, made a wonderful cameo, where she admits that if cameras had followed her every move when she was Britney’s age trying to make it in New York, the world would have seen her make a slew of bad choices too. She counsels us that some of Britney’s decisions were misguided; others were just a part of growing up.

And motherhood? You can tell the separation from her sons has taken its toll. But it’s clear she loves them and is trying her best to do what the court is ordering her to do. To keep her sons close to her heart, Britney has been spotted wearing a “Key to My Heart” sterling silver and Swarovski crystal pendant necklace engraved with her sons’ names.

It’s not the same as full custody, but it’s a nice gesture.

So with the world cheering her on, Britney’s new album, Circus, is sure to be a big a hit. Available this Tuesday (on her 27th birthday), the star will perform on Good Morning America to kick off the media blitz.

Hit us, Britney, one more time.
